Ubisoft removes their upcoming games from Steam globally

Yesterday we saw confirmation that the upcoming AAA titles from Ubisoft – Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed Unity and The Crew had all been removed from the European Steam online store. This morning it’s come to our attention that it’s now a worldwide situation, and the only way PC gamers will get access to these digital offerings will be directly via, you guessed it, uPlay.

Why is this? Well, if you ask us it’s about money. I mean, what else could it be right? Here’s what a Ubisoft Spokesperson told PCGamesN:

We’ve been in discussions with Valve about Assassin’s Creed Unity but for the time being the game is not available via Steam in the UK. In the meantime, UK customers wishing to purchase the game digitally can do so by visiting the Uplay store, our retail partners or other digital distributors.

We’re not quite sure what exactly the reason is for the games being removed, but we’ll keep our eyes open for news on the matter and update this post.
