Dota 2 has broken the 1 million mark for concurrent users over this past weekend. What exactly does this mean? Well, this basically means that 1 million people signed in and playing the game at exactly the same time — a first in the history of Steam. So yeah, it’s a pretty big deal.
Pretty impressive, right? Not when compared to the stats that League of Legends presents. LoL can have anywhere from 5 to 7.5 million concurrent users at any given time. Regardless of the LoL stat, it’s a significant milestone for Steam as the Dota 2 figures are more than double the current second place count, which goes to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with a respectable 420,000 concurrent users.
Football Manager 2015 is currently the highest ranking non-Valve game, with around 71,000 concurrent users.
