Voice Actor Tuesday: Raphael Sbarge

Today’s voice actor is a bit different from those we’ve featured previously, as he’s not primarily a voice actor. However, he is a voice that stands out if you’ve played the games that he’s been involved in.

Raphael Sbarge

Raphael Sbarge is an American screen and voice actor who has appeared in many TV series over the years. Some of his more recent roles include David Molk in Murder in the First, and Archie Hopper/Jiminy Cricket in Once Upon a Time. He also played Jaka Straka in The Guardian in the early 2000s. Gamers are more likely to recognise him as the voice of Kaiden Alenko from the Mass Effect trilogy.

If you’re a Star Wars fan, it’s possible you’ve heard Sbarge in Republic Commando as Delta 62 ‘Scorch’, or in Force Commander as Dellis Tantor, or in the Knights of the Old Republic games as Carth Onasi. I must admit Carth was the first video game character I fell for. He made playing the Dark Side path very difficult! I also can’t believe I never connected Kaiden and Carth’s voice as being the same actor… As something of a voice actor nerd, it was a surprise finding this out all these years later!

In case you need a refresher on the awesomeness of Carth, here’s a video I found with some of his best lines:

Gamer, geek, LEGO fanatic. I also love Pathfinder RPG, The Sims, cross stitching, crochet, and sci-fi and fantasy movies, games & books. And animals.
