SA Gamer Awards: Best Remaster / Remake

best-remastered-or-remake

It’s pretty crazy that remastered and remakes have become such a large category. Love it or hate it, the idea of bringing back older games in a new skin with a few new features is popular and definitely here to stay. You may as well embrace it because you never know when your favourite game might get the treatment.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

uncharted moments

There were a lot of candidates for this category, a lot of good candidates with so many great games getting the remake and remastered treatment. At the end of the day it was just a no-brainer that Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection would take the price. The collection consists of three of the greatest games to ever release as well as access to the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Beta. It’s a fantastic package featuring gaming’s luckiest adventurer, with all three games looking and playing incredibly well. It has given many of us the opportunity to play the games again, and those that never owned a PS3 the luxury of playing it for the first time. The Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is a must have for PS4 owners, no questions asked.

Runner-up: Gears of War Ultimate Edition

Honourable Mentions: Journey (Remastered), Majora’ s Mask (Remake), Dishonored (Remastered), DmC (Remastered), Xenoblade (Remastered), God of War 3 (Remastered). FFFX/FFX-2 (Remastered), Grim Fandango (Remastered). Resident Evil (A Remaster of a remake – True Story). Saints Row IV: Re-Elected (Remastered), Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (Remastered)

Together with Gerard {I am Jarred's clever side} we aim to take over the world. And if that doesn't work out we'll sit on the couch and play some video games.
