Rumour: Beyond Good and Evil 2 might be heading exclusively to the next Nintendo console

Look back at the short history of the current Nintendo console, the Wii U, and it’s very hard to overlook Bayonetta 2. To this day it’s still exclusive and will remain so as Nintendo published and help resurrect the title. Next in line? Beyond Good and Evil 2 if reports can be believed. A source with a very trustworthy record, Alexander Maier, provided Destructoid with a document that details the existence of the game.

Alexander has in the past leaked the information on Pokémon forms and Microsoft’s IllumiRoom project, which both ended up being true. Right now it’s still a rumour, but with him involved there’s a chance there’s some truth at hand. He’s also recently provided more insight on what to expect from Nintendo’s next console, codenamed NX. Here’s what Destructoid detailed of what they’ve seen so far:

According to the supposed leak, the game is currently assigned the working title Beyond Good and Evil: The Prejudices of Philosophers. This is apparently a reference to a specific chapter in the philosophical text Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche, which details how morality can be altered by authority, and the ways black-and-white morality overlooks the larger complexity of the nature of morals.

What makes this all the more interesting is that Tim Schafer (Psychonauts. Grim Fandango) and Michel Ancel (Rayman, Beyond Good and Evil) recently name-dropped Shigeru Miyamoto in their recent Let’s Play developer video.

This is sounding too good to be true, but it’s also very believable. If this had to happen would you consider buying the next Nintendo console… or have don’t you quite get the craze for Beyond Good and Evil? Hopefully this pulls the game out of development hell.
