The publisher behind gaming franchises such as Final Fantasy, Just Cause, Deus Ex and Tomb Raider, Square Enix, has made a substantial donation in support of the relief efforts for earthquakes in southern Japan that have been dominating headlines globally.
Square Enix Group (the “Group”) extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to all those affected by the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake.
With the hope to support the earliest possible relief and recovery of affected regions, the Group has made a donation of 50 million Japanese yen to the Japan Red Cross Society.
The publisher has donated ¥50 million (R6 500 000) to the Red Cross Society of Japan to support relief and recovery of the affected regions areas of the country.The two earthquakes in question measured at magnitudes of 5.4 and 7.3 in the Kumamoto region last week (14th and 16th April 2016), taking the lives of at least 29 people and reportedly injuring thousands of people.
