Castle of Illusion was one of my all time favourite games back in the day on the Sega console. A few years back the game was remade for PS3 and Xbox 360, and my excitement went through the roof.
Now, Sega, via Game Informer, said that the game will no longer be available to purchase digitally. According to the website, Castle of Illusion will be removed from the respective digital stores on 2 September 2016. If you’d like to play the game, but haven’t purchased it yet, you might want to do so before Friday.
If you already own the game, you should still be able to download it whenever you want to. It’s, in a surprising move with this news, also heading to the Xbox One backwards compatible list of games. Sadly, the game was very average and didn’t quite live up to the original game. Having said that, it still a shame to see a game be removed. It’s especially sad seeing as the game is digital only.
