The promotion for Final Fantasy XV is getting a bit silly now. We have a movie, deals with noodle companies, every day has a new trailer, so many special editions that it would make your head spin and my newsfeed wants to file for a restraining order for this game. It seems the Square-Enix really wants this one to achieve success and they are throwing more money around than a vegan at a Whole Foods. But hey, whatever makes them happy.
The latest piece of juicy news about the much anticipated JRPG is that it will feature a mobile game that is part of the Final Fantasy XV universe. In fact, the characters in the game play this on their own mobile phones. The game is called King’s Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon and it already has the whole mobile game naming thing on lock. It’s a free-to-play 4-player game within the “formation RPG” genre. It’s actually a sequel to a game that came out 30 years ago on the NES called King’s Knight. Word on the street is that this original was an awful game, but that’s just the streets talking.
The game does have a trailer for you to watch to understand exactly what this is, but it looks just like your standard Square-Enix mobile game. There’s also word that the game will be a minigame within Final Fantasy XV through DLC.
