If you took the time to enter the multiplayer component in Uncharted 4, after completing the campaign, you’d be well aware that it’s an enormous amount of fun. It’s very strategic and just plays exceptionally well. There has however been something missing that we’ve become accustomed to in Uncharted 2 and 3 – a co-op mode.
Uncharted 4: Survival is in essence a horde mode whereby you and some friends will be tasked at clearing 50 waves of enemies. It’s surely going to be something spectacular to play once it launches. For now it’ll be playable at the PlayStation Experience (though that means very little for us locally). Here is a breakdown of how the mode will work, followed by the announcement video:
Across 50 waves and 10 maps, you’ll face off against Shoreline mercenaries, heavily armored Brutes, Snipers, Hunters, and more that will only get more precise, more aggressive, and better equipped as time goes on. Every 10 waves culminates in an intense boss battle, including our all-new Pirate Warlords. Inspired by the story of Uncharted 4, some of the Founders of Libertalia have arrived to hunt you down with powerful Mystical attacks.
Expect Survival mode to arrive in mid-December next month.
