eSports has taken our country by storm over the last few years. It’s grown from strength-to-strength and Kwese Sports has come through with support for the biggest game in our country – FIFA 17. (True story: There is no game that sells more copies in South Africa every year). To date there have been 850 entrants between Johannesburg and Cape Town and, come this weekend, the finals will take place in Johannesburg. The top eight players are playing for a pool of R100 000, with the winner walking away with a cool R25 000. There is however something in it for you as a spectator.

If you would like to attend the tournament in person and watch events unfold in front of your eyes you can sign up here. Those who attend the event will also qualify to take part in a spectator tournament where the winner will walk away with R10 000. That’s definitely not a bad way to spend your Saturday. Who knows? You could walk away with a nice stash of game money.

For those of you who are keen to see who the finals, but can’t attend, you can stream it live on the Kwese Facebook page on Saturday when it kicks off at 13:00. The event should conclude by 15:00.

Best of luck to any of our readers attending!

Married to a gamer wife who kicks my ass at most shooters. If it's got analogue thingies, with buttons that's connected to a big box I'll play it no matter the format.
