SA Gamer Awards 2016: Best Racing Game
If there’s one thing that’s certain it’s that we’ll see several racing titles launching annually to please those of us who have petrol racing through our veins. 2016 saw its fair share of racing games, but there was really only one racing game that won the hearts over of racing game fanatics, and even non-racing games alike:
Forza Horizon 3
Forza Horizon 3 is not only the best racing game we’ve seen in many, many years, but it’s possibly the best game that you can buy on your Xbox One (and racing game on PC) right now. The developers over at Playground Games had a vision and that was to create the most beautiful, fun and immersive racing game that ties in with a modern generation and they achieved just that. The world was massive and diverse and you could race online against friends in fun multiplayer games, have friends join you in a co-op session to assist you in your campaign or you could just head out for a Sunday afternoon drive with or without buddies. The online PC and Xbox One crossover integration was seamless, which marked the beginning for a future of a PC and Xbox One multiplayer love affair. On- or off-road – you decided how, where, what and when you’d like to drive. Expect this game to be talked about for years to come as it’s now quite simply the benchmark for all other racing games going forward.
