Sony to close Guerrilla Cambridge
The developer behind one of the better PlayStation VR games, RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, Guerrilla Cambridge, are to be closed by Sony according to GamesIndustry.biz.
Sony said this is due to them reviewing their European studio structures, and believes it will make them stronger and help them reach their strategic objectives:
Sony added that they are looking to reallocate staff into other projects, as well as speak with other local developers for possible recruitment.
This comes as a bit of a surprise, as Guerrilla Cambridge has made some pretty decent games in the past, which includes games such as the MediEvil franchise, Primal, Ghosthunter and Killzone Mercenary for the PS Vita. RIGS: Mechanized Combat League has also been well received.
This move does not affect other European studios such as Horizon: Zero Dawn which is being developed by Guerrilla Games.
