Splatoon 2 ‘Global Testfire’ to launch at the end of March

The Nintendo Switch is now three weeks away from launching on 3 March. Other than The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the launch games are looking a little limited and some gamers have been wondering just what they’ll be playing once they’ve completed Breath of the Wild. Well, if you played and enjoyed the original Splatoon on Wii U you’ll have a very good reason to get excited – a Splatoon 2 demo (of sorts) will be made available 24-26 March.

It’s called a Global Testfire as it’s in essence more of a beta than anything else. It’ll give players a chance to test out the various weapons and levels to ensure the developers can tweak it just enough to make it a balanced shooter. The original on the Wii U was a genuine masterpiece that blossomed into something special after several updates, so expect Splatoon 2 to ink its way into your heart.

You’ll only have one whole weekend to play it and, to top it, it’ll only be available at limited times throughout the weekend:

Here’s the announcement trailer:

Married to a gamer wife who kicks my ass at most shooters. If it's got analogue thingies, with buttons that's connected to a big box I'll play it no matter the format.
