Watch Dogs 2 has a new ending that might be a teaser for the setting of the next game
It’s not often that you hear of games changing their endings. The most high profile example is from the much maligned Mass Effect 3 ending where they later added some much-needed clarification and expansion. Watch Dogs 2 recently got a massive patch (10gb on console, 14gb on PC) that added a bunch of new content such as clothes, new dance emotes and new locations that are possible setups for the season pass DLC. There was also a surprise addition to the game’s ending. Nothing drastic has changed and it mostly serves as a more complete wrap-up of the game. You can watch it below, but be warned for spoilers if you haven’t finished the game.
During the ending cutscene , there is a phone call between two unknown men and above their conversation, you can see some coordinates. Simply punching them into Google gives you a location and it is none other than London England.
This seems way too convenient to just be a random coordinate and if you want to be really speculative, you can maybe say that this is a teaser for the setting of the next game. Ubisoft has been adamant that the Watch Dogs series will be an ongoing franchise and having the game set in London makes a lot of sense. London has surveillance everywhere and it also has its fair share of corruption. Ubisoft also knows a thing or two about London since they made Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, which had a wonderful representation of it even if it was set in the 19th century.
I’m personally completely down for a Watch Dogs game set in London as it is one of my favourite settings and I also loved Watch Dogs 2 to bits.
