Get your merry crew back together, Payday 3 is on the hit list
Get your gear together, restock your arsenal and decorate those clown masks, Overkill Studios has started developing Payday 3.
Starbreeze announced in their year-end report that the process they have employed will take as long as possible to ensure a high-quality product is produced.
Starbreeze CEO Bo Andersson Klint
There’s subsequently no release date for the game which is another indicator that the studio will take the time to produce a close-to-perfect title. Klint elaborated a bit more on the reasoning behind it:
Might be a bit upsetting for fans of the franchise as it’s been a long while since Payday 2 hit the shelves. A whole three and a half years ago, in August 2013 in fact. It has received a steady stream of DLC, though. The latest being a John Wick: Chapter 2 tie in, that was made available last week. So there’s that and a myriad of free and paid DLC stacked on it. This should be enough to keep you busy until the release date announcement. Hopefully.
We hope to hear more about the development of Payday 3 in the near future, or even E3 2017, as we’re keen to see how well a disciplined and refinement orientated approach could turn out and pray it permeates into the entire industry if successful.
