Crash Bandicoot was probably the first 3D platform game I’ve ever played. I remember getting it for my humble little Playstation 1 and my mind was blown by how you can traverse 3D space like that. It was a magical experience for little 12-year-old me and it was probably the same for a lot of other people. Crash Bandicoot holds a lot of nostalgic weight with people and the original trilogy for the franchise was widely adored. Many people wanted a new Crash Bandicoot game, but sadly it seems Naughty Dog are too busy making award-winning games to be bothered with making a new one. How dare they.
Thankfully Vicarious Visions have us covered with the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy that features the trilogy in full remastered glory in one collection for the PS4. It will include the original Crash Bandicoot as well as Cortex Strikes Back and Warped. The games will be a full remaster that tries to stay true to the original game as much as possible while vastly improving the graphics and the functionality of the games.
We now finally have a release date for the collection and it is…
The 30th of June 2017 for the PS4. But a hop and a skip away. This is great news for those that grew up playing the Crash games and the collection seems like it will have a lot of value for money. It’s obviously not a new instalment that a lot of us so desperately crave, but it’s most definitely the next big thing.
