Epic Games working on a Free-to-Play RPG for PC and mobile phones

Battle Breakers, announced by Epic Games in the early hours of this fine Tuesday, is one of six games currently in development at the studio. It seems to be a free-to-play tactical RPG with characters that look like they’ve been plucked from nostalgic morning cartoons of the ’80s that will feature a variety of characters such as ninjas, dinosaurs, robots, and knights along with the added feature of cross-platform play between mobile and PC.

As stated in their own words, “Master the elements and defeat your enemies with strategy, smash crystals to unlock hidden treasures, and power up your hero squads to take back the Kingdom, one break at a time!” The game is likely to have turn-based combat and the control over some devastating natural disasters such as the power of tsunamis, earthquakes, and firestorms as well as some base building.

As usual, as with most announcements, no release date has been confirmed. You can, however, pre-register for the game on the Google Play store and from Epic’s website. You’ll receive the “Dark Beastman” character on successful sign-up. Not sure how epic a game this will turn out to be, but any new game from the studio is worth a try. Here’s some screenshots and video from the game with little to no idea as to what Battle Breakers is all about:
