Video: Ghost Recon: Wildlands isn’t winning the frame rate war

Recently the open beta for Ghost: Recon Wildlands just finished up and this time there was more of the open-world to explore. The first time I played Ghost Recon: Wildlands was on the PS4 during the closed beta and I must say when it comes to the frame rate things were pretty smooth. I then decided to play the open beta on PC and was a little bit shocked at how bad the frame rate was even on a rig that was higher than the recommended specs. Well the guys at Digital Foundry decided to test the beta across the PS4, PS4 Pro and Xbox One to see which version performed best – they were wise to stay away from the PC version.

As you might expect the PS4 Pro version was the best version with a solid 30 FPS pretty much the entire time, even when up-scaled to a higher resolution. The PS4 was the second best performing system with only a few drops in frame rate when things got heated, while the Xbox One saw the biggest drops into the low 20’s. Check out the performance test for yourself below and let us know what you thought of the open beta?
