Get ready to construct additional pylons in Heroes of the Storm

Heroes of the Storm features legends from other Blizzard titles. Heroes that shaped the worlds and sometimes universes in which their stories take part. Thrall, Kerrigan, Diablo and uh, a Protoss probe? That’s a bit odd. Next to the likes of Ragnaros, the Fire Lord himself, get ready for Probius, the worker unit.

Probius is a high damage, area denial specialist that warps in his own Protoss structures and needs to be near a pylon to regenerate mana. His trait lets him warp in a Pylon at a location, which gives him (it?) massive mana regen.

Probius doesn’t mount up, and moves 10% faster than normal heroes. He has a 40-second cooldown ability that boosts his speed by 50% for 5 seconds but this can be interrupted.

Q: Disruption Pulse

This line skillshot deals damage and pierces through enemies. It is fine on its own, but the interaction with W is where this ability shines.

W: Warp Rift

This ability creates a small slow effect on the ground. After a second this ability explodes, dealing large damage in an AoE. This ability has two charges and can be talented to have three.

E: Photon Cannon

What are the Protoss without the signature Photon Cannon? Create one inside range of a Pylon and have it attack your enemies. Make a defensive line to retreat behind and hope the enemy gets greedy and falls for your trap.

R: Pylon Overcharge or Null Gate

If you like hunkering down with lots of structures, Pylon Overcharge is the way to go. Pylons gain a long range attack. Now your pylons and your Photon Cannons are killing people for you.

If you are playing a more aggressive or mobile game then Null Gate helps with that type of map. Null Gate drops a targeted wall that deals a small amount of damage with a heavy slow effect. This lets you keeps enemies in one spot for your abilities or allies to take them down.

Probius won’t be for everyone as his abilities can be responded to, meaning you need to make use of brush, line of sight and knowing when and where an enemy might show up to take full advantage of Probius’ abilities. Still, I can’t wait to kill someone as a probe.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
