Resident Evil 7 producer thinks a Dino Crisis reboot ‘would be a really exciting prospect’
Before you get your hopes up of this ever becoming a reality – Capcom has this thing of holding on to some amazing franchises and doing absolutely zip with it. A quick glance at Mega Man, Viewtiful Joe, Onimusha and Ghost Trick and it’s all too apparent that they own great untouched IPs. There is a particular game many fans have been asking for, for years now – Dino Crisis.
The PS1 classic, that we had a look at a few months back, received an amazing sequel (also on PS1) and then a terrible third installment appeared on the original Xbox. However, the producer of Resident Evil 7, Masachika Kawata, likes the thought of it being remade:
“I think if you were to create Dino Crisis with modern gaming technology it would be a really exciting prospect.”
He was also quick to squash any hope that it’s currently in development:
“Currently there aren’t any conversations happening [at Capcom], that I’m aware of.”
So, if you came here with high hopes that Capcom might go the remake route with the classic series, as they are now doing with Resident Evil 2, then you’ll walk away very disappointed. For now you’ll have to find your dino-fix elsewhere.
