A huge franchise that is on my Pile of Shame is System Shock. These games were a precursor to what would become one of my favourite franchises of all time: BioShock. The original System Shock made a lot of waves thanks to its ambitious design and then System Shock 2 took all of those elements and refined them to craft something that many consider a classic. System Shock 3 was announced a while ago, but details have been kept infuriatingly scarce. However, it seems everything is going full steam ahead.
The game secured a new publisher in the form of Starbreeze. They secured $12 million in funding which the publisher has said would be used to bring the game to consoles. They didn’t specifically say PS4 and Xbox One, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to deduce that it would probably head to those platforms.
System Shock 3 is probably still a few years away since its development is still in relative infancy, but it is good to know that they will at least cover all of the platforms and we console peasants don’t have to worry about being shafted.
