Project Sonic, announced alongside Sonic Mania during its 25th anniversary, has received the official title of Sonic Forces. All was revealed in a tweet with what we can only assume is concept art for the game. The tweet makes mention of gameplay footage for Modern Sonic that will be made available sometime tomorrow. Sonic Forces is set to release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch late 2017.
Following a panel discussion at SXSW, the company confirmed that Sonic Mania would be delayed until sometime in July 2017.
Takashi Iizuka, Sonic Team head, said in a statement provided to IGN that quality takes precedence to Sega and they will do everything in their power to ensure a high quality product.
”For SEGA, quality is most important. We stated this last year, and we are committed to doing whatever it takes to make Sonic games the highest quality possible. Though we like to go fast, sometimes, for a great game, you must also wait.”
Sonic Mania will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
