The Xbox One has had a bit of a lagged response in South Africa. The original console came out almost a year after the official release and it was so staggered that I bought a PS4 instead of it since I couldn’t wait that long for a shiny new console. It eventually made its way to our shores, but the delays didn’t stop there. The Xbox One S, the streamlined version of the console that includes 4K video playback as well as HDR, has been released for a while now and we’re only just getting our hands on it.
The local release date as well as the pricing for different models have been revealed and thankfully it’s not too far off.
The Xbox One S will be at all participating retailers on the 13th of April and will retail for R4999.00 for the 500 GB version and R5999.00 for the 1 TB version. There’s also a pre-order incentive for the console which includes FIFA 17 or a 12 month Gold subscription and an extra controller. You can find the deal on Raru.
So if you’re looking for a new console, or would like to upgrade your bulky Xbox One that you can potentially kill someone with if you drop it on their head, this is your chance.
