Those of you who grew up in the 80s will fondly remember Micro Machines being a big deal in that era. Later on we saw Codemasters producing one of the best games on the SEGA Mega Drive and later on the PS1, and since then it’s been a little quiet. Obviously silence is not all that golden, because we have our first video showing off Battle Mode in Micro Machines World Series and it’s looking completely over-the-top and, mostly importantly, fun.
Up to 12 players will battle it out online in Battle Mode where you’re tasked at taking out your competitors by making use of various wacky weapon pickups. Think of it as Twisted Metal on a mini scale. There are also environmental hazards such as chain saws, pool table balls, drops of water and just about anything that could be harmful to these mini vehicles of destruction. Expect to scrap it out in 15 battle arenas in popular modes that include Capture the flag, Territory and 6v6 Team Deathmatch on 23 June for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
