Lies of P

I am finding most open world games to be boring and a grind lately. Bring on more linear games LOL

Story of my life forever and a day and why I could never get into any of them and why Fallout 1 and 2 reign supreme over what came after.

The exception being ones that allow you to skip the grind and stick to the story more easily like Grand Theft Auto.

Finally finished this game.

Uploaded my saved file to to PSN cloud just before the final Geppeto encounter to get The Real Boy ending then copied the saved file back to console storage for the err, I'm not sure what to make of this boss but the Nameless Puppet really pushed my boundries, but FU! I kicked his ass eventually.

Thinking about going for plat but that requires two play throughs and with Spidy 2 around the corner . . . Na I don't think so.

I don't have the patience for this genre but do appreciate the skill required to beat each game. My bro on the other hand is a huge fan and has been enjoying this game. Apparently the Fallen Archbishop Andreus boss gave him a good challenge. Figured you chaps would relate.

Took him out on my first try but there were other bosses and elite enemies that were really challenging for me.

One thing that I did learn is that throwables are so damn op in this game. Overall, I really enjoyed this game.

Yeah nameless is by far the toughest fight in the game. After hours of getting my ass kicked, what worked was staying on him and trying to parry/guard everything.

Played it on gamepass, but will get it again on PSN when its on sale.

I have played near daily for a bit since launch. Took me a looong while, longer than any souls game, but...... I finally had the Opening credits roll. :D
Hotel is open and Gipetto is there.
Jassis. So cruel from the developers. I am loving the game now.

The jumping attack I have seen in some vids. Where there is strike then jumps up and strikes down, is that a weapon specific animation/skill, or tied to the choice you made in the beginning between heavy, balanced and light?
These games really get me going. Bosses almost always get a YES!! **** YOU when i eventually beat them.

I wanted to like this game so much, and thought I would considering Bloodborne is one of my favourite games of all time but it just didn't click with me. It's not a bad game but it just isn't enjoyable for me. My two main gripes are the linearity of the level design and the heavy reliance on perfect blocking in combat. Much like Sekiro's parry system it just isn't my thing. I will give it another shot down the line but untill then I'll be playing Lords of the Fallen which I absolutely love despite it's issues (mostly technical).

Yeah it definitely comes down to preference here, as I couldn't get into LotF . I consider Sekiro to have perfect combat, which is why I love this game so much. But unlike Sekiro, you can't just parry your way through the game, you have to deploy a good mix of parry and dodge rolling. Lies of P is the bastard child of Bloodborne and Sekiro

Itching for LOtF. But wanna wrap this 1st. Do you see replayability in LotF?

I am smitten with this game. Pure quailty. The ambience, music, art, mechanics,. Took a whie, but the slow build progress is supwer rewarding. Beat Victor last night, and can now, using the Golden tree, respec, particularly maxed out Legion arm. I enjoy listening to the records in the hotel. SO lovely.
But damn, feels like the difficulty spiked now

Yeah LotF has three different endings and lots of different build options so definitely has replayability. I'm about 60 or 70% through my second run but it's taken a back seat for now.
