After sleeping about this, I decided that I'm rather not going to take the risk of going second hand with electronics. So I'm gonna cash in a bit more and buy a new PC. Then I know it has an active warranty and everything should work fine. Around how much do I need to build a decent PC? Already have a monitor/keyboard/mouse which will do for now. R15k?

@Ninja_Badger_RSA, if you buy the parts I'll help you install it. It's so much more fun than paying someone. And nothing beats the smell of fresh new hardware straight out of the box.

Yeah I also want to know , used them back in the day. These days basically everyone I speak to tells me to avoid them. I must say their prices are really good, especially on MSI stuff which is my brand

Their prices are not bad. It's the after sale service that it horrendous. Refusing to honour warranties, taking forever to do so, etc etc.

The R100 saving is not worth the time, frustration and airtime to try get it resolved.

Cool thanks. Need to know this stuff cuz I am upgrading around Feb next year. Good to know. I must say I last bought something from them in 2015. Been using Wootware since then... I've heard good thing from Rebeltech too...

Yup, Wootware, Rebeltech, Raru, Purple Fox Gaming, all decent places.

That would be super nice! I'll organize the beers

@UrBaN, good to know. So they are basically like BT Games...

I should check out the prices for those parts on the retailers you mentioned. If I can get something for under 16k I'd be happy!

Buy individual parts from them = awesome.

Get them to build a pc for you = terrible idea. The machine is great, but having had to send it up and down twice before they fixed the problem (meaning I was about R2500 out of pocket for postage/insurance) it's completely soured my experience with them.
