If you have a tracking code, download either 17Track or AfterShip (both on the Google Play store). They provide details about the parcel and will even use push notifications to let you know when the parcel has been delivered to your post office. I use the apps whenever I buy items from Aliexpress, Gearbest, etc.
Yeah I'm using Aftership. It tracks as far as the website does. Last update is it arrived in destination country.

    Default Loot crate South Africa

I contacted Loot Crate earlier this month to process my refund because neither the Post Office, nor Customs could track it. And Customs had told me they had already sent out all the loot crates that they received.

I got my money back and ordered a Halo Crate which is every second month and decided to go the Aramex route.

Then I get a call from our mail room there's a telegram for me. My initial loot crate is here, I had to pay R52 and it's at another post office in the area. So I went there now and picked it up.

I mailed them to re-process the payment.

    In terms of timeline:
    • I ordered sometime in early April
    • It shipped mid to late April
    • Arrived in SA on 28 April
    • Couldn't track it locally and after numerous calls got a refund
    • The notification I received was dated 1 June and I had 21 days to collect which is tomorrow.

    Here's the haul. Decent crate.

2017-06-15 22:42 JHB INT MAIL CENTRE (HUB), In transit

Still waiting for it to arrive at Cape Mail because I am in the Western Cape, should take another 2 weeks or so before I get it, or I hope so.

In other words, it took around a week before it arrived in SA, its been here since the 7th and it is still stuck in customs.

Thanks for this - just signed up for free.
I assume the site you do your shopping from needs to be affiliated with AGS, or offer the option at checkout?

Nope. Just use an address AGS gives you for the country you're shopping from. Your package goes there and they contact you and calculate shipping to your actual address.

At least, that's how it worked when I used MyUS.

Hope it works out for you.

You can buy from any site just as long as they can deliver to one of the 18+ AGS locations.

Once it gets shipped to the AGS location, they send you a mail asking you to upload the invoice. There's also a photo of your package that you can see in your AGS page for the shipment. Based on the weight, they inform you of the shipping charge to your SA address.

It gets shipped and hopefully clears customs quickly. You are then required to pay for the shipping & customs (if any) via credit card or PayPal. Once that's done, it'll get couriered to your door.

    Great, thanks.

So if i order, i just add the local (in my case Jhb) AGS address. How do they (AGS) know when they receive my package that it specifically belongs to me though?
