Well considering it is 1 game I would want to see how it compares on newer games. Also forget about the 1080p benchmarks. You can bench a system blue on these settings but overall you want to know what push comes to shove looks like in the end.

There was a card in 2000, the Savage S4. It handily beat the TNT2, Voodoo 3 and ATI rage cards at 640x480 but when the resolution was taken up just 1 notch to 800x600 the card was so far behind it just wasn't funny.

The issue seems to be with the driver implementation for nVidia GPUs, it was actually picked up in Rise of the Tomb Raider first. I don't know the specifics, all too technical for me. I doubt anyone is trying to sabotage anyone else, just a weird anomaly. I'm waiting for Vega now to pair it with a Ryzen.

So the Ryzen 1400 is R2500. I think we have a low end, not budget, winner.

So it seems that whenever you put a GPU in that matches the budget you are better off going for the Ryzen 5 1400.

Basically Ryzen 5 = better value than i5. Almost the same can be said about the Ryzen 7 and i7.

For pure gaming, no. Same with the i5. For doing everything else from media encoding and multitasking all ryzens have the edge in core count.
I think the video points out that IPC (instructions per core) intel still leads hence why most games run better on the faster i5 and i7 cpus. However the massive core count and thread count on ryzen simply means you can do other things with the cpu while you are gaming. I'm willing to bet even with 8 cores needed in games intel will still be ahead with their i7 until you start needing a 9th core for background tasks.
