I still remember a few of them myself because of Word for Windows' brain-dead approach to typing extended characters (alt and then the ASCII code). Our Afrikaans translators here usually have a printed page of them up in their cubicles due to needing é ü and the closing quote on 'n.
But then you would be reading Hexadecimal...not ASCII.
And yes that is exactly what ASCII "codes" are in my mind. Alt + 136 etc.
