    Computer role playing game

It refers to the isometric style-party based RPG's of the times like Baldurs gate, Icewind dale etc.

No grinding, IIRC monsters don't respawn...and its totally different to Diablo
Its open world but also quite linear. There's set maps and you're free to explore it however you want.

It's good, I enjoyed it on PS4 but it is a game I would never recommend.

You have a skill called Pet Pal that allows you to talk to animals which opens up a metric ton of extra stuff that you would either have missed or not known about. Quest lines can be done in various manners.

It is a game that demands a lot of your time but all the time spent is well worth it.
That really sounds like a different...but good experience. It seems very old school so that will be new to me.
    Thanks for the advice.

The series has the best turn-based combat in my opinion. Simply superb.
We've all got use to rpgs guiding us every step of the way, this sounds like it would be a challenge but definitely worth while.

    In a nutshell:

-It's a deep, long but fun game (if you generally enjoy CRPG's, otherwise it may not be for you)
-Combat is turned based and very tactical eg. you can combine spells and interact with your surroundings for bigger impact in combat (shooting open an oil barrel and then casting a fireball, and then the enemy mage can cast rain or bliz spell to counter the inferno you just created) . Again, turned based combat isn't for everyone.
-Requires a lot of your focus and attention, no hand holding wrt to quests as mentioned above.
Iv never played this type of game before so this all sounds intimidating from a noob's perspective. Combat sounds very strategic and something that would need a lot of thought and planning. I'm eager give it a try.

I always wanted to play Divinity but in the end I went with Pillars of Eternity. In a world with no backlogs and more time I would have jammed this for sure
