July is just around the corner, so it’s just about the right time for Sony to announce their next set of free games for PS Plus subscribers. There’s no “wow factor” this month, but there’s a nice spread of games that might keep you occupied until the bigger games are made available later in the year.
For the PS4
The first game up for grabs is TowerFall Ascension, a multiplayer platforming game that focuses on bow and arrow combat. Up to four players are allowed to join, so make sure you have some friends nearby to get the most out of this game.
Next is Strider, a side-scrolling platform game by Capcom. It follows the story of Hiryu, an assassin for the Strider organisation. His mission is to eliminate the evil Grandmaster Meio, who has turned the world into a dystopia.
For the PS3
PS3 gamers will be treated to Vessel, a 2D physics-based puzzle game. You get to play Arkwright, an inventor that creates Fluros (a kind of liquid robot). Unfortunately the Fluros begin to mutate and destroy certain parts of the world’s machinery. Now it’s up to you and Arkwright to fix these broken machines and stop the Fluros.
Dead Space 3
The fourth game in the list is the action/horror Dead Space 3. While not as scary or as good as its predecessors, it’s a decent game and the co-op, if you can find someone to stick it out with you, is pretty fun too.
For the PS Vita
Doki Doki Universe
The first game for the Vita is the unique indie game Doki Doki Universe. You play a little robot that travels through space in search of his own humanity. It’s also a cross-platform game, so you can have it for the Vita, PS3 and PS4.
LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes
Saving the best for last is LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes. Now you get to save Gotham City once again as the Dark Knight and many other superheroes.
That’s it for next month’s section of PS Plus games. Make sure your subscriptions are up-to-date, and if you haven’t subscribed yet, make sure you do.
