For years now we’ve been told that AI’s will at some point invade our lives and all but rule it. Siri is probably the best-known AI in our daily lives, but we’re still far away from what we’ve been shown in movies… or are we? Forza Horizon 2 will come with it’s own AI, called ANNA. Playground Games Creative Director, Ralph Fulton, believes that they’re on to something pretty cool with Kinect:
Kinect will be involved with a feature called ANNA. She is your digital personal assistant and navigation in the game. She is also very intelligent and will suggest things to do in the game and give you a recap when you return to the games. She will also alert you when friends are online.
He also took the time to confirm that there’s no ‘story mode’ in Forza Horizon 2, but that solo players will have more than enough to keep them busy:
We understand there are lots of players like that. What we don’t have is a story, per say. There is a really strong structure set up around the festival and the Drivatars. They really are the characters in the game. You form your own narratives with real people, friends, and family you know.
After that bit of information it’s clear that the game will combine an artificial intelligence form and Drivatars based off your real friends. Where are the days we just played against out real friends in the same room?
