Plenty of games have pretty much flown under the radar lately, especially with all the Destiny hype, so I was excited to find out that Velocity 2X finally received a release date. Though no price was mentioned, Futurlab, the developers, announced that the game will be available for the PS4 and PS Vita on 2 September (US) and 3 September (EU). The game also supports cross-buy and cross-save, so you’ll have an easy time playing the game at home and in transit.
For those of you not familiar with the game, Velocity 2X is the sequel to the highly enjoyable Velocity (or the Vita remastered version Velocity Ultra). Unlike it’s predecessor, which was only a top-down space shooter/puzzle game, this game will include both top-down spaceship shooter sections and on-foot side-scrolling sections featuring the game’s protagonist Lt. Kai Tana.
If I were you, and you owned a PS Vita, I’d buy the first game and give it a bash. It was free on PS+ many moons ago, so if you’ve purchased the game but never bothered to download it, now would the right time. It has quite the cliffhanger, so no matter what the price, I’m going to buy this puppy the second it goes live. Here’s the trailer:
