It’s definitely not the biggest delay in the history of game delays, but it’s perhaps a good thing that you’re just made aware of it. If you were planning your annual Assassin’s Creed fix on the 28th of October you’ll have to wait two weeks extra now. Unity will now launch on 13 November. What’s perhaps very interesting is that there will be three Ubisoft games launching within a week of each other.
Ubisoft released this statement for the delay:
”As we got close to the finish, we realised we were near the target but still needed a bit more time to hone some of the details to make sure Assassin’s Creed Unity is exceptional,” says Vincent Pontbriand, senior producer at Ubisoft. “We sincerely appreciate players’ commitment to the game and their patience. It’s just a couple more weeks. And it’s going to be worth it.”
The Crew launches on 11 November, followed by Assassin’s Creed Unity on 13 November and lastly Far Cry 4 on 18 November. If you ask me that’s a bizarre scenario. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a big publisher do that before. Guess we can confirm that Ubisoft owns that week in November now.
