Engineers at Netflix got the service to work on an unmodified NES console. The hack happened at a Netflix Hack Day (there’s plenty other videos, check it out here) where they got to mess about with various ideas, to see if they can bring their concepts to life. This team of engineers, Guy Cirino, Alex Wolfe, Carenina Motion, all got the NES to display everything that’s on Netflix.
Obviously it’s nowhere near as good-looking as we expect these day, but the titles were there, along with a summary and a watered down image. He used the D-Pad on the NES to scroll about and goes as far as watching House of Cards Season 3. Check it out:
