We’ve taken a look at two of the the biggest men in the voice acting business over the past couple of weeks, so I thought it was time to feature at one of video voice acting’s leading ladies, Jennifer Hale.
Jennifer Hale has been voicing characters in video games for more than two decades now, and her resume is an extensive one. Chances are you’ve heard her in numerous games without even realising it. She’s also been doing voices for cartoons for as many years. However, it was her role as Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect trilogy that brought her to the attention of many gamers. As good as male Shepard’s voice acting was, Hale’s Shepard is probably one of the most memorable video game characters of recent years.
First video game role: Katrina, Quest for Glory: Shadows of Darkness (1994)
Most notable role: Commander Shepard, Mass Effect trilogy (2007-2012)
Other famous roles: Bastila Shan, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2003), Naomi Hunter, Metal Gear Solid series (1998-2008)
Other work: Hale has provided various voices for tons of animated series, including the Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Johnny Quest and Star Wars: The Clones Wars. Here’s just a small taste of some of her roles:
