In 2008 Square Enix released an action RPG game in Europe known as Odin Sphere for the Playstation 2.
The game has an interesting concept to it, where you play as five different heroes with each their own story and yet at the very same time their stories are intertwined. The game is set out as a series of books read out to the player whereby each book is a chapter in the game, for each of the five protagonists. There are however seven chapters within the game.
The story is based upon a once thriving magical land divided into Kingdoms after disaster hits and thrown into War over control of a powerful magical relic. At the same time, a King from a neutral Kingdom is controlled by his court sorcerer who believes in a prophecy to bring upon the Armageddon.
An HD remake was announced for Odin Sphere known as Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, to be released on the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita early 2016 in Japan. Europe and North America have been slated for 2016 as well but later than the Japan release. The remake will not only bring upon redrawn art and in game visuals but also promises new monsters and fully voiced story scenes.
