Video: PlayStation VR hardware features detailed

PlayStation VR is expected to launch in the first half of 2016 and we’ve reported that it’ll cost roughly as much as a PS4 console. PlayStation also recently showed off some of their games at Paris Games Week, which finally gave players a glimpse of what software to expect when it launches alongside the hardware in 2016. Now it’s time for a video to show off the features. Here’s what you’ll take out of it if you don’t have the time to watch the below video:

  • 5,7″ OLED Display
  • 1920xRGBx1080 Resolution (960xRGBx1080 per eye)
  • 120Hz Refresh Rate (Latency under 18ms)
  • About 100 degree field of view
  • Accelerometer & Gyroscope (Duh!)
  • Positional Tracking with 9 LED’s (360 degree head tracking)
  • 3D Audio (with stereo mini jack and mic input)
  • HDMI & USB interface
  • Gameplay output to both headset and TV

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I'll play it, no matter the format.
