On Monday we reported that there’s an unofficial app in development that’ll allow you to stream and play your PS4 games on PC. Later on it was announced that this unofficial app would be paid for. Now it’s official that Sony are at work on their own app (for PC and Mac) and, though it’s not confirmed, we’re hoping that it’ll be free in this case. Shuhei Yoshida confirmed the development of this app on Twitter:
Some people asked if we plan to provide Remote Play function to PC, and yes, we are indeed working on an official application for PC/Mac. 😀

Xbox One owners are already enjoying this feature, so it makes sense that PS4 would follow with something similar. Right now you can use Remote Play via the PlayStation Vita, but the missing L2 and R2 triggers can be a pain, both literally and figuratively. Seeing as you can already use the Dualshock 4 on PC it all makes sense.
No release date has been confirmed, but we’re thinking that the PlayStation Experience next week might be the perfect opportunity to tell us more.
