SA Gamer Awards 2015: Best Narrative

Sometimes the thread of a story is so well woven, so cleverly created that a game feels more like a book coming to life as you play it. These are the narratives and experiences you remember for a long time, because of how they made you feel, or what they made you think.

Tales from the Borderlands

This Telltale game made me eat my proverbial hat. When it was announced I scoffed at the idea of a Borderlands not focussed on anything except shooting people, but man, was I in for a surprise. The tale of Rhys and Fiona is a crazy ride full of wacky characters, insane situations and improbable encounters. The pace it sets varies from comfortable jog to hurtling toward death the whole way through, and it will leave a big grin on your face.

Runner-up: Life is Strange
Honourable mention: Stasis

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
