This year has had quite a few upsets for PC fans. The terrible port of Batman: Arkham Knight, its half-measure updates and that feeling like a big publisher just gave up on a whole segment of the market is a pretty big sting. Big names are moving away from PC exclusives, seeing the console market as a sea of Dollar signs. But there have been some gems on PC, those games that you tell console players about and they get a bit jealous.
Heroes of the Storm
Blizzard’s foray into the MOBA world is a heady mix of action, teamwork and fun, as it pokes fun at its own franchises and characters we love so much. Heroes of the Storm released this year and it has sunk its teeth into many people. With regular map updates and new characters being added, there is often something new and fresh to either learn how to use, or defeat. Also, being able to do quests for gold to buy new heroes instead of pulling out the credit card makes regular players feel rewarded for their consistent play. Heroes breaks the rules of most MOBAs. No items to worry about. No individual levels of heroes in game. Heroes that influence a lane or fight without even being there and now, heroes that require two players in one large body to control. Hmm, I think I feel a fever coming on, I can’t work anymore today. *Loads Battle.net launcher*
