The Burning Question: Do games ever make an appearance in your dreams?

The topic of video game dreams was brought up in one of our regular Skype group chats and we all had a game related dream to share. Why I’m bringing this up know, is because I had one last night.

Now, dreaming, for me, is never normal. I have very vivid dreams, so clear that I can remember minute details even days after I’ve had the dream. The problem is, the dreams are pretty weird.

A quick summary of the dream: I went to a new shopping mall to change some pounds into rand. When I got there I was told to answer a few questions about swords. I got two right and one wrong. For the correct answers, I was given a sword and a helmet. For the incorrect answer, I had to fight two Anubis monsters from Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, using the fighting style from Bloodborne.

This isn’t the first time it has happened. I’ve dealt with necromorphs, relived a stage in Forbidden Siren, met Claire Redfield, raised a Digimon, fought the Chimera from Resistance and loads more.

Seeing video games in a dream, at least in my experience, is a little frightening. Most of the time it involves fighting, and, because they feel so real, that makes me think I’m going to die. This is not a great feeling to have at the start of your day.

What do you think? Do you sometimes dream about games? If you do, how does that make you feel?

I R 'Kaal'gat Kyle!
