With the recent release of DOOM, Bethesda have been giving it their all to promote the latest entry to the iconic franchise. As a part of these promotions Bethesda announced that a DOOM-branded car, driven by Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ Mikhail Aleshin, will race in the Indianapolis 500 on May 29.
While the Indianapolis 500 may not be overly popular locally it is an event that is one of the highlights of the American racing calendar.
DOOM is all about speed. With its relentless, push-forward combat, you’ve gotta keep moving – or you die. On May 29, DOOM will put that speed to a different kind of test when it heads to the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 with a DOOM-inspired car competing in the race. The DOOM car will make its debut on May 14 – the day after the game’s worldwide launch – at the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis.
Russian driver Mikhail Aleshin will be behind the wheel when the DOOM car hits the tracks. Aleshin is the first driver from Russia to race in the Verizon IndyCar series.
