In 2016 you’d think that the term ‘crossplay’ should not be such a big a deal, but unfortunately the fact that there’s money involved still has a hold on how all this works. For some time now PC and PS4 gamers have been able to play Rocket League against or alongside each other online and the day has now finally come that Xbox One owners can also join PC (Steam) players in a game of car soccer.

This new addition is not available right now as it’s scheduled to activate at midnight tonight, so expect to have fun with many more gamers online from tomorrow onwards. The Vice President at Psyonix, Jeremy Dunhum, confirmed it via this statement:
We’re really excited to bring Xbox One and PC players closer together. Cross-network play has been something that Xbox One gamers have been asking us for since the day we launched, and thanks to Microsoft’s new cross-network policies, we’re proud to give it to them.
Now, if only Sony and Microsoft would play nicely so that everyone could play with any friend, no matter the format.

Married to a gamer wife who kicks my ass at most shooters. If it's got analogue thingies, with buttons that's connected to a big box I'll play it no matter the format.
