Quite possibly one of the scariest games you can find on current generation consoles and PC, Outlast is one of the few games that was truly a horrific experience. Having nothing to defend yourself, other than using your recording device to light up the space around you and hiding from the monstrosities – you were really abandoned and on your own.
Late last year the news surfaced that Outlast 2 would be launching in late 2016. Unfortunately that’s not the case anymore as the game has now been moved to an early 2017 launch. The developers are doing this to spend more time with the game and to improve it, which is always a good idea. Here is what they had to say on their Facebook page:
We want you to know that we listen to your feedback, we see your excitement and we know you care about our work. Our mission as an indie studio is to deliver to you the best, most terrifying, most fulfilling experiences possible. That’s why we’re taking just a little bit more time to make sure our vision for Outlast 2 is in no way compromised and is the experience you deserve.
In other words – they want to make sure you die of a heart attack by being scared sh!tless. Wow, such nice guys… Prepare to get your heart attack early next year then.
