Reports on Battleborn going F2P are false, says Gearbox CEO

Eish, things are starting to heat up as we get closer to the end of the year. Now, reports have surfaced saying that Battleborn may be going Free-to-Play in the next few months. This little tidbit was released on Kotaku, when an alleged source told the news site what was going on behind the Gearbox and 2K curtain. However, since the article was released, Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox Software, has debunked the article saying that there are no plans to make the game free-to-play. Here’s what he had to say:

While nothing is known about this “free trial” (what other kind of trial would it be? A paid one?), I hope they manage to pull a rabbit out of a hat. Battleborn failed to capture the market since Blizzard’s Overwatch released. Perhaps going free-to-play isn’t such a bad idea.
