Xbox One and Android development of SteamWorld Heist ended

I trust everyone is having a good day of money spending and I hope that your F5 keys are still able to last the rest of the day. Black Friday has come once again but with it comes news of something you won’t be able to spend your money on anytime soon.

SteamWorld Heist, the sequel to the enjoyable SteamWorld Dig, came out towards the end of 2015 on basically everything except Android and Xbox One. They had planned to bring the game to those platforms this year however these ports have had to take a backseat while they work on their next unannounced project. The 18-person indie studio has had to, unfortunately, put the ports on ice due to time constraints but have not ruled them out at this point. We may still see SteamWorld Heist on Xbox One and Android, but just don’t expect it anytime soon.

In the same breath they have also announced that their next project will appear on the Nintendo Switch. While it’s all still under wraps, they have released a pretty interesting video on their experience with the Switch before the whole world got to see what Nintendo had in store for their next console.

I hope Image & Form are able to make something special for the Switch. SteamWorld Dig and Heist were definitely some creative games and I hope the studio is able to take this into their next project and do something interesting with the Switch.
