Yes fellow gamers, March is promising to not only murder our wallets, but completely make a mocking of most years in gaming. There are an endless supply of games launching in the next month with classics such as Horizon Zero Dawn, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (including the Switch hardware), Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Mass Effect: Andromeda all dropping in close proximity. This leaves NIER Automata out in the cold, and it’s probably best you take note of it, as it’s looking good.
NIER Automata comes from the folks at Platinum Games (Vanquish, Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) and is looking more promising than ever. You have access to four weapon types: small swords, large swords, spears, and combat bracers. As expected the story is in typical Platinum Games fashion a little cheesy – humanity has been driven away from earth and you have to take it back by sending android soldiers to take on the machines. Think of it as a great excuse to beat the living snot out of foes in this action RPG.
It’s sounding and looking ‘very Platinum Games’ and if you’ve somehow skipped it in March (and who can blame you?) you should perhaps consider it as something to pick up when you can:
