Video: Nintendo reveals the 2DS XL and launches in July

If there’s one thing that’s certain in life it’s that tomorrow there will be another day, that the sky is blue and that Nintendo will launch multiple versions of its handheld console per generation. So far we’ve had the original 3DS, 2DS, 3DS XL, New 3DS and New 3DS XL and now it’s time for the sixth member in the family – the 2DS XL.

Of late Nintendo released a good number of games without the 3D feature, which led many to believe that a new 2DS handheld was on the cards, but no one guessed that they were going to return with something quite as sexy as what we have here. The 2DS XL will come in two colour variations and will launch on 28 July. It comes with all the features that you’ll find on the 3DS XL, minus the 3D of course. There is however one big bonus in buying the 2DS XL – it comes with an AC adapter.

Here is the official announcement video:

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I'll play it, no matter the format.
