SNK’s NEO GEO classics have done a lot to give the Nintendo Switch a bit of filler on the eShop. The titles that are currently available are in no way ‘must haves’ but they’re perfect as on the go arcade experiences for Switch players. I’ve had a lot of fun with them so far and I feel that these games are perfect for the Switch, especially when you hand over a Joy-Con to a friend.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves, the eighth installment in the Fatal Fury series, will see its on the Nintendo Switch come the 11th of May as part of the NEO GEO Classics collection. For anyone unfamiliar with the title, here’s the overview from the European eShop:
Garou: Mark of the Wolves is a fighting game released by SNK in 1999. The son of Geese Howard, Rock Howard, who has been raised by Terry Bogard is the main character in this first episode of a new generation in the Fatal Fury series. Numerous new game mechanics such as the ‘Breaking’ feature have been introduced in this acclaimed fighting masterpiece resulting in a game with a variety of deep strategies available to players.
So not only am I be able to play Team Two Dads in The King of Fighters XIV, but I’ll soon be able to take Rock Howard on the go on Switch. The only unfortunate thing about this is that it, being a port and all, the Switch version of Garou will not see the online multiplayer and practice mode that is seen on the PS4, Vita and PC versions of the game. This does put a bummer on the whole thing as these modes are things that exist and it would have been nice to have them on Switch, but I suppose that’s the price we pay for low-cost ports.
